Wegovy storage guide

Wegovy effectively has 2 shelf lives:

1. It can be stored unopened in the fridge until the expiry date printed on both its packaging and the pen itself.
2. Once opened, Wegovy must be used within 6 weeks, regardless of whether it’s stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

The best way to store Wegovy pens depends on whether they are in use or not.

Before opening a Wegovy pen, it should be stored in a fridge between 2 and 8°C. When you receive your Wegovy pens from us, they will be delivered in temperature-controlled packaging to preserve their effectiveness.

Once a Wegovy pen has been opened, there are 2 ways it can be stored:

1. In the fridge, away from the cooling element at 2°C to 8°C.
2. At room temperature, but below 30°C.

Wegovy pens should also be stored:

• out of sight and reach of children
• away from heat and direct light
• with the pen cap on

Does Wegovy need to be refrigerated?

Yes, before they are opened, Wegovy pens must be stored in the fridge, but you can choose to store them in the fridge or at room temperature once you start using them.

• only use reliable fridges and not those that are likely to stop working or fluctuate in temperature

Opened Wegovy pens can be stored at room temperature for a maximum of 6 weeks. Once 6 weeks have passed or the expiry date has occurred within this time, the pen must be thrown away, even if it still contains some liquid, as it will no longer be effective.

You must not store unopened Wegovy pens out of the fridge. If you’ve stored an unopened pen out of the fridge, you must use it within 6 weeks.

Can I put Wegovy back in the fridge?

You must remove them from this and place them straight into the fridge until they are ready to be used. If you have been using Wegovy and storing it at room temperature, you can choose to then store it in the fridge, as long as it is within 6 weeks of opening.
