-
Hezkue is a mouth spray with a mint flavour that contains the active ingredient sildenafil. It’s used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), helping to improve the blood flow to your penis by relaxing your blood vessels. The recommended dose is 4 pumps, which is 2ml of the mouth spray and contains 50mg of sildenafil. Your doctor may change this dose depending on how Hezkue spray works for you. Your dosage should not be changed without talking to a doctor first and should never exceed 8 pumps, or 100mg.
It’s taken by spraying the recommended dose onto your tongue and swallowing it straight away with saliva. While it should be taken around an hour before sex, it can work in as little as 12 minutes and lasts around 4 to 5 hours. This means you can get easier erections any time during this period. Hezkue is manufactured by Farmalider.
You can order Hezkue spray with Asda Online Doctor by completing a short consultation about your symptoms and any current medications. A doctor will review your answers and, if it’s suitable, can prescribe Hezkue spray. Your medication can either be delivered in discreet packaging to your chosen address or you can choose Click & Collect from your local Asda Pharmacy.
About Hezkue spray
-
-
Hezkue spray is a type of prescription erectile dysfunction treatment that comes as a mouth spray. It’s sprayed onto the tongue and then swallowed. The standard dose is 4 pumps, which provides 50mg of the active ingredient sildenafil. This is the same ingredient in the well-known ‘little blue pill’ called Viagra, and in generic sildenafil tablets as well.
It may be a suitable alternative if you do not like or struggle to swallow tablets. The spray also contains peppermint to make the flavour more appealing.
-
-
Hezkue spray contains sildenafil, which is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5) inhibitor. This type of medication works by stopping an enzyme called PDE-5 from working as quickly, relaxing the blood vessels in the penis and increasing blood flow.
If you are sexually stimulated after taking Hezkue spray, you will be able to get an erection more easily, and it should last longer. Hezkue spray does not cause an erection on its own, you still need to be sexually aroused.
How long does Hezkue spray last?
Sildenafil can last around 4 to 5 hours after taking it, with most people still able to get an erection at this time. If you have tried it on 8 different occasions and it’s not working for as long as you would like, speak to your doctor. You can only use it once during the same 24 hour period.
How long does Hezkue spray take to work?
Further studies are needed into how long it takes for sildenafil to work when taken as a mouth spray. Current data for sildenafil tablets show that it can provide an erection good enough for sex in around 12 to 37 minutes, but it can take up to 1 hour.
Early studies into Hezkue spray, when taken as a 100mg dose, show it can be absorbed in as little as 5 to 20 minutes, but for now, it’s recommended to take it an hour before sex to make sure you’ve given it long enough to work.
How effective is the sildenafil spray?
Sildenafil works for around 74% of people who take it at the recommended 50mg dose and for 82% taking the 100mg dose. Research is still ongoing into the effectiveness of sildenafil as a mouth spray, but current trials show that it’s just as effective as its equivalent (Viagra and sildenafil tablets).
It may also work faster – Hezkue spray at a 100mg dose provides quicker absorption into the bloodstream than Viagra 100mg tablets within 20 minutes of taking it. More research is needed into this to confirm how quickly sildenafil spray works compared to tablets.

-
Take Hezkue spray around an hour before you want to have sex, as this will give it enough time to work. You will need to be sexually aroused to get an erection. You cannot take Hezkue spray more than once every 24 hours.

Getting your bottle ready for use:
- Shake the bottle for around 20 seconds to mix the medication.
- Remove the cap by pressing down and twisting anticlockwise.
- Attach the pump to the top of the bottle with the plastic tube sitting inside the bottle. Screw clockwise until attached.
- When ready, turn the nozzle to the ‘open’ position so that medication can be released.
- Before every use, pump 3 times to prime the bottle. Do not use any medication released during priming. This step is to make sure medication is coming out properly, so you will get the correct dose per spray.
Using Hezkue:
- Tilt your head back and put the bottle next to your chin. Only ever spray Hezkue into your mouth.
- Press down on the pump for your correct dosage (2 to 8 pumps). Spray the medication onto your tongue.
- Swallow it straight away with saliva.
Storing the spray correctly between uses:
- Turn the nozzle to ‘closed’ and remove the pump.
- Tap the internal tube inside the bottle to remove any medication still inside.
- Put the cap back on the bottle.
- Wash the pump thoroughly with only water. After washing, press the pump a few times to make sure there is no water or medication left inside the small tube.
- Allow the pump to dry thoroughly before you use it again.
Once the medication goes below the red line (on the bottom of the bottle), stop using Hezkue spray and discard it safely.
Important information
You can take sildenafil spray with or without food, but you do not need to drink anything to take it. Eating a heavy meal before taking it may affect how long it takes to work. Alcohol can also impact its effectiveness, as it temporarily reduces your ability to get an erection.
To get the maximum benefit from Hezkue spray, we recommend not drinking excessive amounts of alcohol while taking it.

What to do if you get Hezkue spray side effects
Some side effects of sildenafil spray can be managed at home. If they become severe or long-lasting, you should speak to a doctor. You can manage mild Hezkue side effects by:
- staying hydrated, which may also mean avoiding alcohol or making sure to drink water between alcoholic drinks – this can help, especially with headaches
- taking over-the-counter painkillers like paracetamol and ibuprofen – for things like headaches or pain
- avoiding strenuous activity – if you get side effects like dizziness, nausea, or vomiting, it’s best to rest until these side effects get better, which may mean postponing sex
- making sure you’ve eaten a light meal or snack before taking it – this may help with things like dizziness, stomach ache, and nausea, which may get worse if you take Hezkue on an empty stomach
- keeping the room cool – this can help with flushing and dizziness
- only taking the dose you’ve been prescribed and never more than once in 24 hours – taking it more can cause side effects or make the ones you already get more severe
-
-
Hezkue may not be right for everyone – certain health conditions or other medications can interact with sildenafil spray and make it less effective, or potentially unsafe. You should always tell your prescribing doctor about any medications you’re taking and any conditions you have, or are being investigated for.
You should not take Hezkue if you:
- are a woman or are under the age of 18
- do not have ED
- have ever had an allergic reaction to sildenafil or any other ingredients in the spray
- have a severe heart or liver problem
- have recently had a stroke or a heart attack
- have low blood pressure
- have certain eye diseases, such as retinitis pigmentosa, or have ever lost your vision because of non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION)
- are taking any other ED treatments or medications that contain a PDE-5 inhibitor like sildenafil
Let your doctor know before taking Hezkue if you have:
- heart problems
- sickle cell anaemia
- leukaemia or multiple myeloma (types of cancer)
- a deformity of your penis or Peyronie’s Disease
- a stomach ulcer, or a bleeding problem
- kidney or liver problems – you may need a lower dose
Some medications should not be taken with Hezkue, such as:
- nitrates for chest pain or angina, or nitric oxide donors, such as amyl nitrite (poppers) – taking sildenafil with either of these may lead to a dangerous drop in blood pressure
- riociguat, a medication used for high blood pressure in the lungs – taking sildenafil spray at the same time may increase the effects of this medication, which can be unsafe
Let your doctor know about any other medications, especially if you are taking:
- protease inhibitors, such as for the treatment of HIV – you may need to start on a lower dose
- alpha-blocker therapy for high blood pressure or prostate enlargement – you may be more likely to get dizziness or light-headedness
- sacubitril/valsartan, used to treat heart failure

- Cialis, the branded version of tadalafil, working in the same way
- Spedra, a branded PDE-5 tablet that works like Hezkue, but works faster than other sildenafil tablets, as it can work in 20 minutes
- vardenafil, a generic PDE-5 tablet that takes around the same time to work as sildenafil and lasts just as long, may be a suitable alternative if you cannot take sildenafil
- Vitaros cream, a cream inserted into the penis to provide an erection in as little as 5 minutes, containing a medication called alprostadil, which also improves blood flow by relaxing blood vessels

Frequently asked questions
Who is Hezkue spray for?
Hezkue spray is for people with erectile dysfunction who want a quick and convenient way to get an erection. It may be suited to you if you do not want to or find it difficult to swallow tablets.
Can I use Hezkue spray if oral ED tablets do not work for me?
You may be able to use Hezkue spray if other ED tablets do not work for you, but if you’ve been taking sildenafil already, your doctor may recommend a treatment with a different active ingredient instead. Speak to your doctor about the best option for you based on your reactions to other ED tablets you have tried.
Can I use Hezkue spray every day?
Taking Hezkue spray every day may increase your chance of side effects, as it’s meant to be an occasional treatment, not a daily one. You can use Hezkue spray once every 24 hours, but if you’re using it every day, speak to your doctor. It may be better to take a tablet like tadalafil, which is better suited for people who have sex often. It comes in a daily dose, or 1 ‘as-needed’ tablet that lasts up to 36 hours.
Can I drink alcohol while using Hezkue spray?
You can drink alcohol, but it’s better to reduce how much you drink or avoid it completely. Alcohol can increase side effects caused by Hezkue, especially headaches, nausea, flushing, dizziness, and low blood pressure. It can also temporarily impact your ability to get an erection, meaning it may stop Hezkue from working for you. If you get side effects or are not getting an erection with Hezkue but are drinking alcohol, try taking it without alcohol next time to see how you react.
How long does one bottle of spray last?
If you take the standard dose of 50mg, this is 2ml of the spray for each dose. This means that one bottle should provide around 10 doses. The manufacturer notes that because Hezkue needs priming before each dose and the dosage pump needs to be cleaned after, a small amount of medication is discarded with each use. So, the approximate volume of Hezkue spray used is 20ml in each 30ml bottle.
How long your Hezkue spray bottle lasts depends on what dose you’re taking and how frequently you use it.
Does the spray have a taste?
Yes, Hezkue contains peppermint to create a minty taste. This should improve the flavour of the medication and make it easier to take.
