It gets to work by blocking the actions of histamine within 30 minutes to 3 hours, providing fast, effective relief from itching, sneezing, and inflammation.
Neoclarityn is a prescription-only medication, but you can request it online from Asda Online Doctor without the need for a face-to-face doctor’s appointment.

About Neoclarityn
-
-
Neoclarityn is a non-drowsy antihistamine medication that is used to relieve allergy symptoms. It can treat hayfever symptoms, like:
- sneezing
- burning or itching eyes
- runny or itchy nose
Neoclarityn contains the active ingredient desloratadine, a second-generation antihistamine and an active metabolite of loratadine. Desloratadine is produced when the body breaks down loratadine, which is another hayfever medication.
Because it’s second-generation, it’s less likely to cause drowsiness than first-generation or earlier types of antihistamines. It’s not a cure for the allergy itself, but provides relief from the symptoms.

The active ingredient in Neoclarityn, desloratadine, works by blocking the histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is a natural compound in the body involved in various functions, but is mainly known for causing allergy symptoms.
When you come into contact with something you are allergic to, such as tree or grass pollen, this is known as an ‘allergen’. Your immune system will respond to the allergen and try to protect you. This leads to the release of histamine, which causes allergy symptoms like a stuffy or runny nose and itchiness.
By blocking histamine receptors, Neoclarityn stops histamine from having as much of an effect, providing relief.
How long does Neoclarityn last?
Symptom relief can last a full day after you have taken it.
How long does Neoclarityn take to work?
Neoclarityn starts to work within 30 minutes and reaches its maximum concentration within 3 hours. So, you should notice relief from your symptoms within 30 minutes to 3 hours.
How effective is Neoclarityn?
Studies show that Neoclarityn effectively manages allergic rhinitis symptoms, including sneezing, a runny nose, and itchy eyes, for 24 hours.
Another study found that the effectiveness of desloratadine for allergic rhinitis was judged to be ‘excellent’ by 90.2% of doctors and 88.6% of patients. It was also rated ‘excellent’ or ‘good’ for its tolerability by 97% of people.
