What can I do if I can no longer afford Mounjaro?
Guidance is available to help you choose what’s best for your health, lifestyle and budget. Options include adjusting your dose, switching treatment, taking a break, or using flexible payments.
The cost of Mounjaro has recently increased. We know a price increase can be worrying, especially if you’re planning your treatment long term.
This change is being made by the manufacturer and will affect all UK providers – it’s not unique to ASDA Online Doctor. Our priority is to keep you informed and help you continue your treatment safely.
We’re in close contact with our suppliers. The price you see at checkout will always be the price you pay. Any future changes will be shown clearly before you place your order.
Our doctors, Patient Care team, and pharmacy partners are here to support you – whether that’s continuing your current treatment or finding another option that’s more suitable for you.

Guidance is available to help you choose what’s best for your health, lifestyle and budget. Options include adjusting your dose, switching treatment, taking a break, or using flexible payments.
Why has my payment been refunded without explanation?
In some cases, your bank releases the funds before we have reviewed your order. This does not mean your order has been cancelled. Orders are only cancelled if you receive a clear message in your account.
Can I switch from Mounjaro to Wegovy?
Yes – we’re offering a service that lets you switch within 7 days. If you'll meet the eligible criteria, simply place a treatment request for Wegovy and our doctors will review your current dose and side effects to approve a safe starting dose.
Yes, the price of Mounjaro in the UK has recently changed. This does not affect any other treatments we offer.
This is an industry-wide decision, driven by a significant increase in the price charged by the manufacturer to UK providers of Mounjaro. It is not unique to ASDA Online Doctor.
We’ll help you explore the options that best suit your health, lifestyle, and budget — whether that’s adjusting your dose, taking a break, or choosing flexible payment methods.
Some patients may also consider switching to another treatment, such as Wegovy, if they are eligible. Our doctors will review your request and advise on the safest dose for you.
Only Mounjaro. Prices for all other treatments remain the same.
We understand this change may affect how you manage your treatment. You do have options, including:
Switching to a lower dose – lower doses cost less, and can still be effective.
Staying on your current dose – if you’re already on a lower dose, you could continue without increasing it.
Trying a different treatment – such as Wegovy, if you’re eligible. With our new service, you can begin Wegovy just 7 days after your last Mounjaro dose.
Using flexible payment methods – we accept PayPal (with installment options), Google Pay, Visa Electron, Debit/Credit Card, and Mastercard Debit/Credit Card.
We’ll send clear, step-by-step information before the price increase takes effect. The quickest way to get accurate details is to wait for our update, as our Patient Care team will have the same information when it’s confirmed.
Yes. You can order up to 3 single pens or a 3-month treatment pack, depending on your treatment plan. Our doctors will review your request and decide if your request is suitable for you, based on your medical information.
Treatment packs are only shown to patients when it’s medically suitable and in line with our doctors’ guidelines. This is to make sure your treatment stays safe and effective.
We’ll confirm shortly if this process will change after the price increase.
For some patients, it may only be possible to order one pen at a time, depending on medical suitability. If you’d like three pens, you’ll need to place three separate orders. This allows our doctors to review each order properly and helps avoid situations where only part of a larger order can be approved.
Yes. If you’d prefer not to pay the full amount at once, you can use PayPal’s Pay in 3 or Pay Later to spread the cost over time. We also accept Google Pay, Visa Electron, Debit or Credit Card, and Mastercard Debit or Credit Card.
Each request is carefully reviewed by one of our doctors. At the moment, processing can take up to 14 days due to high demand. While you wait, we’ll keep you informed by email about any changes to processing times or delivery, and you’ll be notified as soon as your order has been reviewed.
Treatment packs are only shown to patients who are eligible according to our guidelines.
If you can’t see a treatment pack when requesting treatment, it may not be suitable for you right now. You can still order up to 3 single pens by placing a separate request for each.
Our doctors will then review your request to decide if your request is right for you.
We’ll share an update soon on whether pack availability will change.
When you place an order, your bank puts a temporary hold on the funds. Sometimes this hold expires before we review your order, which can make it look like a refund. Your order is still active and will only be cancelled if you receive a clear message in your account. Once approved, payment will be taken and you will be notified by email and in your patient account.
Yes. You can discontinue Mounjaro without gradually reducing the dose. Some people notice their appetite increases once they stop, no matter what dose they were on. Following healthy eating habits and staying active can support you in maintaining your progress.
Yes. If your break from Mounjaro lasts more than 2 weeks, you’ll need to restart at the lowest dose (2.5 mg) and then increase gradually. This approach helps your body adjust safely and comfortably.
Yes – we’re offering a new service that makes switching treatments straightforward.
Here’s how it works:
When you place a treatment request, our doctors will review it and recommend the right starting dose of Wegovy based on your current Mounjaro dose. This may mean beginning slightly further along the Wegovy schedule, so you can switch safely without needing to restart at the lowest dose.
In most cases, patients currently using Mounjaro will be eligible to switch. Our doctors will always confirm that this is safe for you.
Your switching dose may be lower than the maximum in cases where you’ve had side effects. It is not possible to switch to higher than 1mg Wegovy.
To switch, just place a treatment request as usual and select Wegovy as your preferred option. One of our doctors will review your current Mounjaro dose and check if you’ve had any side effects. Based on this, they’ll approve a suitable starting dose of Wegovy if it’s the right treatment for you.
You don’t need a full washout period. You’ll just need to wait at least 7 days after your last dose of Mounjaro before starting Wegovy. Taking the two treatments too close together isn’t safe and could cause serious side effects.
Yes. If you’re in the maintenance phase, our doctors will take this into account when you request to switch. Please include your current dose and the dose you’d like to switch to. Our doctors will then review your request in line with our criteria for maintenance treatment.
